4th Exhibition: Group Exhibition
- UNFORGETTABLE
- Date: 9th Oct (Tue) - 3rd Nov (Sun)
The title of the art exhibition "Unforgettable" is based on the important memories and beliefs that each artist holds, such as "don't want to forget" or "must not forget." Through their personal experiences and emotions expressed in their works, a common theme emerges, represented by the word "Unforgettable," which symbolizes the importance of cherishing these memories.
The proposer of the exhibition, Rin, is half Thai and half Japanese, born and raised in Sriracha, Thailand. She spent nine years in Thailand, traveling between Thailand and Japan, deeply influenced by Buddhist culture and her memories of Thailand. Now a university student, six years have passed since she last returned to Thailand, and as her memories fade, she has begun to feel as though her identity is being lost. For Rin, expressing her memories and culture of Thailand through her work is a way to shape her love for her homeland, which serves as the source of her "Unforgettable.“
Tkt (Takuto), a 19-year-old student artist, uses the "eye" as a motif to express experiences such as escapism and his own anxieties. His work, themed around "lonely and painful past memories," portrays this as his "Unforgettable." Through his paintings, Takuto expresses the process of finding companions while feeling isolated, and gradually discovering hope in life. For him, "Unforgettable" represents the difficult past and the light gained from it.
C.ka (Kitamura Cocoa), a second-year student in the Visual Design Course at Kyoto University of Arts and Crafts, creates works that aim to convey the deeply rooted memories of this world and the "proof that people lived." She values the existence and memories of people as proof of life and expresses this as "Unforgettable." Her works carry the wish to be a presence that remains deeply in someone's heart, allowing her own memories to resonate and create empathy with others.
The exhibition "Unforgettable" aims to foster connections and empathy by sharing the memories and emotions that each of the three artists cherishes through their works.
